October Update: InhuMAINE Wins in Bangkok and Screens in Keene

It has been a busy fall for InhuMAINE, the documentary Common Ground Friends produced about homelessness, addiction, and mental illness in Bangor.

An award in September. InhuMAINE won the Documentary Film award at the 2026 Bangkok Movie Awards. The film premiered at the Maine International Film Festival on July 18, 2025, where it was a finalist for the Tourmaline Prize. This year it was also an official selection of the Montreal Independent Film Festival and the Monadnock International Film Festival.

A screening in Keene, New Hampshire. On Saturday, October 3, InhuMAINE screened at the Ruth Huntress Auditorium in Keene as part of the 14th annual Monadnock International Film Festival (MONIFF). The screening was sponsored and moderated by Hundred Nights, a Keene nonprofit that runs a year-round emergency shelter and resource center for people experiencing or at risk of homelessness. After the film, director Rogan O’Donnell answered audience questions in a Q&A. Thank you to Hundred Nights, MONIFF, and everyone in the Monadnock region who came out and helped spread the word.

A teaching tool. The film has screened at Eastern Maine Community College, the University of Maine at Presque Isle, and Thomas College. It is approved for 3 continuing education credits through Husson University’s graduate counseling program. In July, Rogan presented it to county social services commissioners at the New York Public Welfare Association Annual Conference in Saratoga Springs.

Bring InhuMAINE to your community. Colleges, agencies, congregations, and community groups can book a screening and facilitated discussion at inhumaine.me. You can also rent the film on Vimeo.
